Edit Panel

The Edit Panel on the lower portion of the plugin window includes the Model Browser at the left, which provides all controls for perusing and loading Amp, Cab, and Effect models to your preset, and the Parameter Editor at the right, which provides access to all the currently selected model’s parameters and quick automation/controller options.

Note: When the Automation/Controller button Automation button.png at the top of the plugin window is enabled, the Edit Panel is replaced by the Automation/Controller Panel.

The Model Browser

When Using the Helix Stadium Native Intro Version…

The set of available categories and models in the Intro version is more limited than in the complete version. Therefore, several categories in the left column of the Model Browser (Preamps, Pitch/Synth, and Wah/Filter) remain dimmed since they include no available models. Within each selectable category, clicking Get more models… takes you to the Line 6 Online Store, where you can optionally purchase the upgrade to the complete version of Helix Stadium Native to expand the number of available models, as shown below.

As shown in the example above, the Distortion and Reverb blocks appear with “lock” icons, indicating they use models not included in the Intro version. You can click on one of these blocks and use the Model Browser to select an included model, if desired.

  1. Search: Enter the type of Amp, Cab, or Effect in the Search Field Search Field that you want to locate.* All filtered results appear in the center model list column, grouped by category.

*Note: The search will include model and category names, model “Based On” brand names and descriptions, and names of any of your added Favorites. It will not include the names of Clone and IR files that you’ve imported into the plugin’s corresponding folders.

  1. Subcategory and View Selectors: Click on a subcategory to jump to the model list for the desired model subcategory. For example, the Amp list offers subcategories for Guitar, Bass, Legacy, and Clones Subcategory buttons - Amp category selected . Most Effect lists offer Mono, Stereo, and Legacy subcategories Subcategory buttons - Delay category selected . See the following Gallery/List View Selector description.

Note: For the Amp category only, a three-dot menu button appears to the right of the Amp subcategory icons. Clicking on it displays the Add Cab Block switch, which, when enabled (the default), automatically adds a matched Cab block when adding an Amp Model, as shown below. Also see Amp and Preamp Blocks.

  1. Model Categories: Scroll through the left column’s list of model categories and select one to view its models in the Model List column to the right.

Tip: The Favorites category allows you to add your custom-configured models to its list. Once added, you can select a Favorite just like any other model, but all your preferred parameter settings, bypass state, and controller assignments are already configured. See the Favorites page.

  1. Model List Column: The list of models for the selected category is displayed in this column, divided into subcategories. Scroll through the list and click on it to load it into the currently selected block on the signal path above.

    • Gallery/List View Selector: Click the View selector at the top of the Model List column to display a Gallery View with detailed images of the modeled devices or a List View.

Tip: Plugin window sizing options…

  • Click and drag the drag bar The plugin window Drag Bar at the bottom right corner of the plugin window to resize it, which can be helpful to show more Model Browser items and parameters.

  • Drag the horizontal line dividing the Signal Flow and Edit panels to adjust their heights as desired.

  • Drag the vertical lines dividing the Edit panel’s Model Browser and Parameter Editor panes to adjust their widths as desired.

  • Click directly on the Model Category/Name at the top of the Edit Panel to toggle the parameter slider or knob pane to expand it to use the entire width of the window, as shown below. This mode provides access to more parameter controls. Click again to toggle back to the original width.

The Parameter Editor

  1. Focus View Button View Focus Button: Click the Focus button to display the Focus View within the top panel of the plugin window. The Focus View is a simplified graphical editor that replaces the Signal Flow panel. When open, click the button again to exit the Focus View. Refer to the Focus View page for details.

  2. Delay category name and subcategory Current Category, Model Name, and Subcategory:  The information about the currently selected model is displayed on the Edit Panel header. The model category symbol, model name, and model subcategory symbol are shown from left to right. A Mono Icon Mono, Stereo Icon Stereo, or LegacyIcon.png Legacy symbol is displayed to indicate its subcategory type.

  3.  Model Bypass: Click Bypass Button.png to toggle the selected model as bypassed (the button and all parameters are dimmed) or enabled (button is lit).

  4. Model Parameters: The selected model’s parameters are displayed as shown below. Note that you can change the parameter display to use either sliders or knobs, as shown below.

Mouse & Key Modifier Shortcuts

⌨️ 🖱️Use the following handy actions to speed up your tasks in the Edit Tab.

Note: Helix Stadium Native does not support keyboard shortcuts other than the modifier key items listed below. This allows your DAW host keyboard shortcuts to continue functioning (such as pressing the spacebar for DAW Play/Stop) even when the plugin window has focus.

On Any Type of Edit Panel - Parameter Control:

Shift+Mouse Wheel

or Shift+Trackpad drag

When the mouse cursor is directly over a parameter slider, knob, or its numerical value, turning the mouse wheel/dragging on the trackpad adjusts its value.

When the mouse cursor is directly over the vertical scrollbar at the right of the Edit Panel, turning the mouse wheel/dragging on the trackpad scrolls the panel contents vertically.

(When the mouse wheel or trackpad are used without holding Shift, this scrolls the panel vertically, regardless the mouse pointer position within the Edit Panel.)

Show the control’s pop-up menu.

Option+Click (macOS)

Control+Click (Windows®)

Reset the parameter to its initial default value.

Shift+Click

Enable/disable the parameter for Snapshot Control.

On Any Edit Panel Slider Control (Slider View):

Creating Automation, MIDI, and Snapshot Control Assignments

These assignments can be created using the right-click menu of any Edit Panel parameter control. Indicators are displayed in the slider and knob views for parameters that include assignments. Click on these indicator icons to edit the assignment’s properties. Assigned parameters also display their numerical values in white text.

Creating an Automation Assignment:

Right-click on a slider, knob, switch, or segmented-type parameter control and select Automation from the pop-up menu. Depending on the type of parameter, a list of Knob 1-16 (for continuous parameters, such as Mix, Volume, Low Cut, etc. as shown below), Switch 1-16 (for on/off type parameters, such as Bypass, Bright, etc.), or Step 1-16 (for multi-selection, segmented type parameters, such as Compressor Ratio, Filter Type, etc.)

  • Once assigned, an “envelope” icon appears on a parameter slider or knob to indicate that the parameter has an automation assignment, as shown in red below. Click on the icon to edit or clear the assignment as needed.

Creating a MIDI CC Assignment:

Tip: The following is a method for manually mapping a MIDI CC to an individual parameter. Alternatively, you can also use MIDI Learn. Please see the MIDI Control page for MIDI Learn instructions and additional MIDI details.

Right-click on a slider, knob, switch, or segmented-type parameter control and select MIDI from the pop-up menu. Then, in the MIDI Assign pop-up, use the CC slider to select the desired MIDI CC for your assignment, as shown below.

  • A “MIDI” icon is displayed on the parameter slider or knob to indicate that it includes a MIDI assignment. Click on the MIDI icon to edit or clear the assignment as needed. Note that for continuous parameters, minimum and maximum value adjustments can be made using their controls that appear on the slider or knob, as indicated by the red arrows in the image below.

Creating a Snapshot Control Assignment:

Right-click on a slider, knob, switch, or segmented-type parameter control and toggle the Snapshot Control switch in the pop-up menu. Setting the switch to the right enables Snapshot Control, and setting it to the left disables it. When enabled, you can set a different value for each of the eight Snapshots. By default, all parameters are set with Snapshot Control disabled, with the exception of the block’s Bypass switch, which is enabled by default.

Tip: Alternatively, to quickly enable or disable Snapshot Control, hold the Shift key and click on the desired parameter. Also, see the Working With Snapshots page.

A “camera” icon is displayed on the parameter slider or knob to indicate that the parameter is enabled for Snapshot Control, as shown below.
