Preset Clips and Preset Info

The Preset Clip and Preset Info panels are accessed via the Preset Controls at the top of the plugin window. These features provide helpful audio clips for preset auditioning and notes entry for relevant preset information.

Preset Clips

Click the toolbar’s Preset Clip button to open the Preset Clip panel. Every Helix Stadium Native FACTORY preset includes a unique dry guitar or bass riff so you can hear it in context; also known as the “Ohhh, I’ve been chugging with 7-string EMGs through a country preset designed for a single coil Tele. That’s why I thought this preset sucked” feature. Clips can also help you dial in presets without constantly switching between playing and tweaking.

Important! Be sure to reduce the volume on your DAW monitoring system or headphones before entering the Preset Clip view, and gradually increase it as needed.

Load a factory preset and click the toolbar’s Preset Clip button . The Preset Clip panel appears, showing the clip’s waveform, transport controls, and parameters, as shown below.

Note: The Helix Stadium Native plugin must be enabled for the Preset Clip Player to be functional (not bypassed via your DAW host track controls).

In some DAW host applications (most typically when using the AU format plugin on a macOS DAW host), it is also necessary to select an audio interface input for the track and enable the track’s Input Monitoring so that the application’s Audio Engine is active. The following alert will be displayed in the player if this is required. Please refer to your DAW host’s documentation for details on enabling these functions, if necessary.

Click the transport buttons to control playback.

Tip: Click at any desired time position on the clip waveform to jump the play cursor to that location.

Play/Pause: Click to toggle the clip playback between Play and Paused.
Return to Zero: Click to return the play cursor to the start of the clip.
Back and Forward 5 Seconds: Click to jump playback 5 seconds back or forward.

Note: If you use the Preset Menu > Save Preset As and save an editable copy of the preset in the USER folder, the preset clip is retained in the new preset.

Configure the Preset Clip Parameter toggle switches for playback behaviors. See the next section.

Preset Clip Parameters

All three of the parameter toggle switches are Off by default.

Preset Clip Parameter	Description
Auto Start	When On, the clip starts playing automatically upon opening the Preset Clip panel. When Off, the clip can only be played manually by clicking the Preset Clip Play button.
Auto Stop	When On, the clip stops playing when you exit the Preset Clip panel. When Off, the clip continues to play when you exit the Clip panel. Tip: If you set Auto Stop to Off and Repeat to On, you can close the Preset Clip panel, and the clip will keep looping while you tweak your preset.
Repeat	When On, the clip repeats over and over. When Off, the clip plays once and stops.

Preset Clip Parameter

Description

Auto Start

When On, the clip starts playing automatically upon opening the Preset Clip panel. When Off, the clip can only be played manually by clicking the Preset Clip Play button.

Auto Stop

When On, the clip stops playing when you exit the Preset Clip panel. When Off, the clip continues to play when you exit the Clip panel.

Tip: If you set Auto Stop to Off and Repeat to On, you can close the Preset Clip panel, and the clip will keep looping while you tweak your preset.

Repeat

When On, the clip repeats over and over. When Off, the clip plays once and stops.

Preset Info

Click the toolbar’s Info button to display the Preset Info panel for the current preset. Here you can type in info for your own USER presets, like guitar/pickup selection, snapshot assignments, tips/tricks, fajita recipes, etc. This Preset Info is saved with the preset and is also referenced when using the Preset Browser’s Search function.

Tip: All factory presets already include helpful, descriptive notes in their Preset Info screens. Please review the factory presets' Info to get some ideas for how to enter effective details for your own custom presets.

To add or edit info, click in the Preset Info panel and enter your desired text. Be sure to save your preset to retain its Preset Info changes.
